At Family Pathway, our goal is to deliver training that creates lasting, practical change. I was delighted to recently deliver a bespoke workshop for Careers Wales, supporting their team and customers with practical, neuro-informed strategies for time management, organisation, and workplace confidence.

About the Workshop

The session was designed to help participants move away from rigid, one-size-fits-all productivity rules and instead build personal “scaffolding” that works with how their brain actually operates.

Rather than focusing on willpower, the training equipped attendees to:

  • Develop self-awareness around their neurological dispositions, cognitive capacity, and energy patterns.
  • Implement systems—such as structured reminder routines, prioritisation methods, and breaking complex projects into manageable sub-tasks.
  • Build self-efficacy and reliability to thrive in demanding work environments and day-to-day life.

The feedback

The measure of any training is the clarity it gives participants. It was wonderful to receive such generous, affirming feedback from both the Careers Wales team and the attendees who took part.

Feedback from Careers Wales Staff:

“A really useful session with some practical time-management tips. I particularly liked the focus on using simple tools and routines to stay reliable. Prioritising tasks, setting reminders, breaking work into subtasks are all helpful ideas that can be put into practice straight away.

It was a good reminder that effective time management is a personal thing and knowing your strengths/weaknesses can help to improve—put a support structure in place.”

“I found it very useful to help customers reflect, identify, and acknowledge particular skills they may struggle with that could hinder their chances of securing employment or thriving in the workplace, and working on tactics to improve these skills and in turn improve mental health and wellbeing.

All the customers agreed the session was easy to follow and well-paced. They found the activities engaging, and communication clear. They felt the session had helped them learn new skills, improve their knowledge, and feel more confident.”

From an attendee:

“I feel I’ve learnt better ways of managing my time.”
