Direct Support at Alternative Provision

How we work

Supporting the young person and strengthening the system around them.

We recognise that participation is rarely strengthened through isolated interventions. We work directly with young people while also building the understanding, confidence and capacity of the adults, services and communities around them.

What this means in practice
9

We deliver specialist support to young people.

9

We build the skills and confidence of the adults who work with them.

9

We partner with families.

9

We connect with services.

9

We create real-world pathways and opportunities.

Together, this creates stronger participation, belonging and progression.

Feedback from Parent

Parent’s – Feedback
We have struggled to navigate services, and especially education. This is the first time, at MAC, that my daughter, née son, has been seen, heard and progress has been made to be themselves, reducing shame, and giving them hope, as previously they didn’t see any point in anything.
More Than Training

Beyond re-engagement

Our aim is not simply to get young people “back into learning”.

It is to help them build:

9

Identity

9

Belonging

9

Confidence

9

Independence

9

Purpose

Meaningful futures
