Elsa presented Exploring the Relationship Between Assistive Technology, Pedagogical Practice, Participation and Social Justice. She introduced Family Pathway’s participation-first approach, showing that technology alone does not create inclusion. Meaningful access begins with relationships, emotional safety and understanding the learner, followed by identifying barriers, co-selecting appropriate support and providing the teaching and scaffolding needed to strengthen confidence, agency and participation.
