From Exclusion to Inclusion: Elsa Torres’s Research Journey
Elsa reflected on her journey from classroom teacher and inclusion leader to doctoral researcher, exploring the questions that have shaped her work around behaviour, belonging and exclusion. She discussed how relationships, inclusive pedagogy and transformability can widen what is ordinarily available to all learners. Elsa also introduced her current EdD focus: how Initial Teacher Education can prepare teachers to recognise diversity, respond relationally and prevent exclusion before it becomes an outcome.
